With awareness of Internet security at an all-time high, keeping track of the unique passwords needed for logins can be difficult. LastPass for Safari for Mac allows a user to sign in with one password and save those multiple logins for use when needed.
Available as a free plugin for Safari, the program's basic features do not require any payment to use. The program installs quickly into Safari without any user interaction needed. The only indication that the plugin is running is a small icon next to the URL bar in the Web browser. Users can access its settings and disable it if needed by going into Safari's preferences section.
Essentially, the plugin allows users to create one username and password combination that can be entered when beginning a browsing session. As a user browses through secure sites, the plugin enters previous stored login information, keeping the user from having to sift through multiple passwords to enter. Despite the lack of instructions, LastPass for Safari for Mac performs well. However, many of the program's premium features are available in other, free programs.
Despite this, the automatic retrieval of passwords as a user browses is a welcome advantage over other programs. While simple, LastPass for Safari for Mac works well and may help those users with multiple, unique passwords used during Web browsing.

What a piece of junk. Offline access does not work. The browser extension version is invasive and searches the DOM of pages to find places to put the last pass icon to try and "help" you, wasting up to 5 seconds per page on this useless nonsense.
There is no way to turn this off. If you don't like it and uninstall the browser extension, the Mac desktop app has even less support than the browser extension.
I dropped my paid account like a hot potato when I discovered that offline access did not work, and I've only encoutered more bugs since then. The user interface of the desktop app is an awful, bug-riddled and quirky interface. It isn't just small problems though, it will discard any changes you've made to records thus blowing away that new password you just set.
It has inconsistent update behavior and weird select behavior. Generating a new password requies at least 10 clicks, some of them on very tiny little icons that don't even make sense. THe whole process is a total mystery. There is no quality assurance or testing being done on this app. LastPass was so awful that they gave up and ended up using a piece of paper and a pencil. Thanks for promoting worse security through bad design.Users browsing this forum: Google Feedfetcher and 66 guests.

I've done absolutely nothing to update Safari that would cause LastPass to break. I've uninstalled and re-installed LastPass many times over the past day or so but nothing works.
I've tried downloading from Safari's Extension Gallery I've tried downloading the extension directly from LastPass and manually installing I've trashed all preferences for Safari Anyone have any idea about what is going on?
I can log in properly from the LastPass extension. I can go to the Vault. But anything to do with autofilling a form will not work.
It does not seem to "see" the form fields It still works on IE in Windows. Working fine on IE in Windows. Any one find out anything? But when I use LastPass to generate a new password for a site usaa. I have only this on my Mac for about 24 hours and am typically pretty savvy when it comes to such things but I can't figure this out.
It is almost as if this product has invented a way to lock me out of sites. Fortunately I have twice asked usaa to send me a temp password for each time LastPass generates a new password. I am hoping I am just not understanding something and that LastPass actually does work with Safari on a Mac.
I did same steps but used Chrome browser and not Safari and when I changed password, I did get a pop up that asked if I wanted to save the new password to LastPass, which I did.
I proceeded to log off and then log back on and LastPass did what it was designed to do. So either LastPass doesn't play nicely with Safari or Safari doesn't play nicely with LastPass or I have some Safari "feature" active that is not allowing the pop up to appear that asked to save the new password.
Oh well. Installed chrome, added last pass and it works as it should. Safari still not playing ball. Installed the Safari extension, and it will open and let me access my vault and all the other options, but won't autofill when I go to a website. Works fine in chrome on the same laptop. Very interested to see if anyone has a solution.Using the the new Microsoft Edge? Get extensions from the new Microsoft Edge Addons Store.
LastPass, an award-winning password manager, saves your passwords and gives you secure access from every computer and mobile device. A while back when it was first introduced as an extension in Edge, it was buggy to say the best and totally did not work to say the least.
I hardly used Edge for that very reason as I depend on LastPass for entrance to all my sites. Since Edge is a work in progress and it has progressed; LastPass has started working well in Edge. It is still a tad buggy, and does not work as well as in Chrome. However it is definitely usable in Edge. Maybe in a couple months, Edge will have progressed some more to be a bit more compatible. We'll see. But nonetheless a great improvement in Edge. Since about March of I have noticed it works as well as in Chrome.
Lastpass is a fantastic solution recommended by our CISO. I use it to generate all my secure passwords and memorize just 1 password. I installed this app Windows 10 Edge browser. It's absolutely horrible!
It stalls and often doesn't function. When it does, it is awfully slow and unresponsive. Every time, Edge is opened it opens a new tab for this app I tried it for several days looking at all its features. It's not worth keeping. I uninstalled it and hope it hasn't damaged my Edge browser. This app does not work most of the time in Windows edge, its a shame as I like the app, it works well on an apple platform. Works good when it works.
Too often it doesn't. I have used this for several years and it is frustrating to see it failing with no good reason. It has issues with each browser I have tried. Fails to stay logged in. Rarely auto-populates like it used to. I already have paid for the up upgrade but had computer problems and had to uninstall the lastpast just got it working now and would like my payment reapplied to my new installment. This is the best password manager out today. I had a few issues with it but their customer service was able to help me fix my issues.
Their customer service is great. Great Product in every other browser, but it has never worked in Edge. No matter what I do or Microsoft does it will not work in Windows 10 Edge.
